\u00a0always bitter-sweet. \u00a0We had an early start from Francoise&#8217;s house for the two hour drive along the coast.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8472.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11313\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8472.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8472\" width=\"400\" height=\"269\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We had reservations to stay the night in an Ibis Hotel in the city. \u00a0We took the tram to the shore and\u00a0walked on the famous <em>Promenade des Anglais.<\/em>\u00a0 It was an incredibly bright blue day!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8470.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11314\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8470.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8470\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8479.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11316\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8479.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8479\" width=\"400\" height=\"236\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8486.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11317\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8486.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8486\" width=\"400\" height=\"294\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We stopped at &#8216;the Blue Beach&#8217; and secured a table under a large umbrella. \u00a0We ordered soft drinks\u00a0and water, relaxed on the beach, and took turns swimming in the refreshingly cold Mediterranean Sea.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8500.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11318\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8500.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8500\" width=\"400\" height=\"252\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8502.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11319\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8502.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8502\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8513.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-11320\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8513.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8513\" width=\"400\" height=\"263\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>After a while, we crossed the street and went to the luxurious bar in the Negresco Hotel for drinks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8525.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11321\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8525.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8525\" width=\"400\" height=\"283\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8536.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11322\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/DSC_8536.jpg\" alt=\"dsc_8536\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_9774.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11323\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_9774.jpg\" alt=\"img_9774\" width=\"400\" height=\"293\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We walked to the &#8216;Old Town&#8217; for dinner at a restaurant recommended by one of Francoise&#8217;s friends. \u00a0We had gelato for dessert and rode the tram back to our hotel to pack and get ready for our flight tomorrow. \u00a0The last three weeks in France were outstanding. \u00a0Paris was wonderful and the French Riviera with our cousins was amazing and filled with unforgettable memories.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_9768.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11324\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/09\/IMG_9768.jpg\" alt=\"img_9768\" width=\"400\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saturday, August 13, 2016 Today was our last day in France. \u00a0We leave tomorrow morning from the Nice Airport to return home;
