src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1295.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"361\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Today is my last full day in Chasse-sur-Rhone visiting my wonderful cousins. \u00a0I spent a delightful week with Claudine and Astrig and I sincerely thank them for their hospitality, generousity, and kindness. \u00a0I wish we lived closer so we could see each other more often and spend more time together.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1424.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11873\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/IMG_1424.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"285\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We drove to the amazing city of Vienne. \u00a0Roman artifacts and historic relics\u00a0are everywhere. \u00a0The picture above was taken in a lovely public park. \u00a0A\u00a0segment of a 2000 year old Roman road was uncovered during an excavation. \u00a0It was left intact for modern people to appreciate ancient\u00a0technology.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/IMG_1449.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11863\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/IMG_1449.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We walked to the Lapidary Museum housed in the 5th century Saint Pierre Church, one of the oldest surviving churches in France. \u00a0St. Peter&#8217;s Church was built within the walls of Roman Vienne and used as a funerary Basilica. \u00a0The building was made into a museum in 1809 and restored in 1860.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/IMG_1452.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11864\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/IMG_1452.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: this photo of<em> le\u00a0Temple d&#8217;Auguste et de Livie<\/em> which was built to honor the Roman emperor Augustus and his wife Livie during the last quarter of the first century. \u00a0I think it&#8217;s incredible to live in a town with a real Roman temple!!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/IMG_1426.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-11869\"
