{"id":13796,"date":"2018-02-09T17:29:25","date_gmt":"2018-02-09T22:29:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/?p=13796"},"modified":"2018-02-25T13:58:19","modified_gmt":"2018-02-25T18:58:19","slug":"abu-dhabi-united-arab-emirates","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/?p=13796","title":{"rendered":"Dubai to Abu Dhabi, UAE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Friday &#8211; February 9, 2018<\/p>\n<p>Today was a travel day and we drove the 90 mile distance from Dubai to Abu Dhabi UAE on a modern multi-lane highway through the desert.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5106.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13797\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5106.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We arrived in the capital city about lunch time. \u00a0We stopped at Etihad Towers, which is a complex of five towers and includes offices, a hotel, restaurants, and an observation deck on the 75th floor. \u00a0We ate a fabulous lunch at the modern buffet restaurant named, <em>Rosewater<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/DSC_3835.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13798\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/DSC_3835.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"251\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/DSC_3836.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13799\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/DSC_3836.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"257\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/DSC_3856.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13800\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/DSC_3856.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"278\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, our coach drove us to the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel and I explored while the tour group waited to check in. \u00a0The modern lobby was decorated for Valentine&#8217;s Day.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5162.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13801\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5162.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"292\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5155.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13802\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5155.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"334\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Linda and I shared a huge room with an amazing view across the creek. \u00a0We quickly settled in and then went out to explore the &#8220;neighborhood.&#8221; \u00a0There was a walkway along the creek connecting several hotels and a very nice high-end Souq which had several international restaurants, shops, and cafes.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5164.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13803\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5164.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"320\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5165.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13804\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/02\/IMG_5165.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"373\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The location was lovely and it was fun to explore the beach-side path.
