They&#8217;re local NY State 100% grass fed and finished beef, pasture raised pork and chicken, all free of antibiotics and no added hormones.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15513\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2161.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>In the photo below, Drew was cooking yummy &#8216;sliders&#8217; while his daughter helped out. It is the best most delicious meat ever! \u00a0Check out <strong>Farmeats.com<\/strong> for orders, info, and recipes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15514\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2144.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"294\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I finally went to Whitney Museum of American Art&#8217;s new location in lower Manhattan to see their latest exhibit: <em>Whitney Biennial 2019<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15533\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2291.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"294\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The building, designed by Renzo Piano, is a fabulous exhibition space comprised of galleries and located between the Hudson River and the High Line. The photo below is the New Jersey skyline as viewed from the Whitney:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15534\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2296.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"288\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The museum is dedicated to exhibiting American contemporary art with emphasis on living artists. Photogenic stairway at the museum:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15535\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2320.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"315\" height=\"400\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The High Line is a 1.45 mile long elevated park created on former NY Central Railroad tracks. It&#8217;s billed as &#8220;the city&#8217;s newest and most unique public park.&#8221; \u00a0There are gorgeous views of the city on one side and the Hudson River on the other. \u00a0Artworks and special plantings are along the walkway:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15536\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2341.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The High Line passes the Meat Packing district. I remember this neighborhood and what it looked like when I grew up in the city.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15537\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2343.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"312\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The view looking down 14th Street hasn&#8217;t changed much in many decades. \u00a0The cobblestone street and buildings are still there. New cars and boutique signs mark the gentrification taking place.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15538\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2346.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"293\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Art and political messages can be seen from the elevated park.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15539\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2351.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"286\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Robert Indiana&#8217;s Spanish version sculpture:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15540\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2369.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"290\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Visiting the High Line on an overcast drizzly Monday was a good idea &#8211; no crowds. Everyone says the narrow pathway is very congested on sunny weekends.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15541\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/IMG_2373.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s a view of the new Hudson Yards from the High Line. It&#8217;s a 28 acre mega-billion dollar development of ultra-high end residences and luxury specialty shops.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15543\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2397.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Art and music on the High Line:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15544\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2399.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>On another rainy day, I visited the Frank Lloyd Wright designed Guggenheim Museum:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15546\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2453.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"305\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The exhibit was very good. But the best part of the Guggenheim is experiencing the building.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15547\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2441.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another theatrical event I saw was the Off-B&#8217;way British play, <em>Handbagged<\/em>. \u00a0It was a comedy about imagined conversations between Margaret Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth. \u00a0Yes, the play was funny, despite the lack of humor of the two real-life characters.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15548\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2457.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>As the summer heats up and the weather grows warmer, I watch my neighbor&#8217;s flowers bloom:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15549\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_2484.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Sunset over the Hudson River near the new Mario Cuomo Bridge:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-15550\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/IMG_1857.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"255\" \/><\/p>\n<p>So, the Gallivanting Grandma is keeping busy with local events &amp; sights and planning her next adventure to experience the wider world.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the Farm Eats booth, Drew George and his family work at several Farmer&#8217;s Markets selling the most delicious meats imaginable.
