To acknowledge my 80th Birthday, I chose to celebrate in my favorite city.<\/p>\n\n\n

We stayed for five days between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.<\/p>\n\n\n

We used subways and buses to get around quickly and easily.<\/p>\n\n\n

Favorite things: walk around the city, see holiday lights, visit museums. <\/p>\n\n\n

The Met is full of old friends and a special exhibit about Ancient Egypt.<\/p>\n\n\n

There was a raging blizzard outside the Met Museum on Friday night.<\/p>\n\n\n

Four inches of snow! Not a record but everything was covered in frost.<\/p>\n\n\n

Snow doesn’t last long in mid-town but it was fun while it lasted.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Brooklyn Museum is a wonderful place to spend time and explore.<\/p>\n\n\n

We saw Monet in Venice with many beautiful Impressionist paintings. <\/p>\n\n\n

Cirque du Soleil”s holiday acrobatic show was “‘Twas the Night Before….”.<\/p>\n\n\n

MoMA was very crowded with young tourists visiting my favorite painting.<\/p>\n\n\n

After the snow melted, the weather was sunny, bright, but cold & windy.<\/p>\n\n\n

The main branch of the library is my favorite building in The City. <\/p>\n\n\n

A performance of the Nutcracker by the NY City Ballet at Lincoln Center.<\/p>\n\n\n

The ballet was magical and of course, the music is delightful. <\/p>\n\n\n

Tasty meals with good company at interesting restaurants was the best.<\/p>\n\n\n

Whitney Museum has a wonderful location on the Hudson River.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Meat-Packing District is full of high-end boutiques today.<\/p>\n\n\n

Despite a bit of snow and chilly temps, it was bright, sunny and glorious!<\/p>\n\n\n

My family gathered to wish me a very fantabulous Happy 80th Birthday. <\/p>\n\n\n

The skaters were out at all hours of the day and night in every weather.<\/p>\n\n\n

I liked the bright yellow welcoming “Yo” sculpture at the Museum.<\/p>\n\n\n

This was a fantastic way to celebrate the passing of eight decades and to welcome a brilliant and promising New Year!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
