White<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8906.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5970\" title=\"DSC_8906\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8906.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"255\" height=\"400\" \/><\/span><\/a>Asian Art<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Since our timed tickets at the Barnes Foundation were for 11 o&#8217;clock Monday morning, we planned to stay overnight and visit The Barnes after a leisurely breakfast. \u00a0Jeff booked a room at the Rittenhouse 1715 Hotel. \u00a0It was a lovely, relaxing place to stay and is located a half block from the city park known as Rittenhouse Square. \u00a0The small &#8217;boutique&#8217; hotel is a combination of three Federalist Style buildings in the historic district. \u00a0A simple continental breakfast was served in the cafe on Monday morning.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8923.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5971\" title=\"DSC_8923\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8923.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"302\" \/><\/span><\/a>The Rittenhouse 1715 Hotel<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Barnes Foundation&#8217;s new building was completed and opened to the public last fall. \u00a0It had been difficult to obtain tickets since the opening. \u00a0When we checked the website last week, we were surprised to find availability of tickets for Monday, so we booked immediately. \u00a0They adhere to a strict policy of admittance only at the precise time which was stamped on our tickets.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8926.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5972\" title=\"DSC_8926\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8926.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"264\" \/><\/span><\/a>The Barnes Foundation Building<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">We were totally amazed by the wonderful collection of paintings at the Barnes. \u00a0The Foundation owns the greatest number of Pierre-Auguste Renoir paintings in the world. \u00a0He is my favorite impressionist painter and we were able to see all 181 Renoirs. \u00a0There are also many paintings by other great European impressionists and modern painters: Paul Cezanne, Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Henri Matisse, and Amedeo Modigliani. \u00a0There were also paintings by several American painters, as well as furniture, ceramics, metalwork, jewelry, and African masks. \u00a0It was truly a very impressive collection!<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8934.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5973\" title=\"DSC_8934\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8934.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"267\" \/><\/span><\/a>Outdoor Seating at The Barnes<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8929.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-5974\" title=\"DSC_8929\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/08\/DSC_8929.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"249\" height=\"400\" \/><\/span><\/a>Main Entrance<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Photography was strictly forbidden in The Barnes Foundation, so I do not have any photos of the exhibit galleries. \u00a0However, the collection can be viewed on their website: \u00a0www.barnesfoundation.org \u00a0 I highly recommend a visit to The Barnes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monday &#8211;
