This formed the background for our\u00a0visit to the Fine Arts Museum\u00a0to see Georgia&#8217;s historical treasures. Unfortunately, photography was not allowed. Check out their website: www.museum.ge \u00a0The museum is located across the square from the Marriott Courtyard. A small park faces the building with a statue of Pushkin looking at the museum.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_9226.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8427\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_9226.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9226\" width=\"334\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92231.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8428\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92231.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9223\" width=\"400\" height=\"284\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Afterwards, we walked down the street to have\u00a0lunch in an underground restaurant. There seemed to be many underground tunnels and spaces in Tbilisi which were used for commercial spaces such as restaurants. This particular one was two levels below the street.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92291.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8429\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92291.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9229\" width=\"400\" height=\"299\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92281.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8430\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92281.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9228\" width=\"400\" height=\"312\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #000000;\"> We had a free afternoon so I joined Nola and Janet to visit The National Gallery which is further along Rustiveli Street next to the beautiful Kashveti Church pictured below. The main entrance is located in the back of the building. I saw an interesting photography exhibit of American jazz musicians and contemporary Georgian art.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92311.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8431\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92311.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9231\" width=\"400\" height=\"318\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92331.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-8432\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/IMG_92331.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_9233\" width=\"307\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There was an exhibit of Georgia&#8217;s best known painter, Niko Pirosmani. We had heard many good things about him and wanted to see his works.
