No photography was allowed in the galleries. \u00a0We wandered through the impressive building\u00a0to see the fabulous collection of paintings by Goya, el Greco, Velasquez, Titian, Tintoretto, Durer, Gainsborough, and Heranomus Bosch.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_80041.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10028\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_80041.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8004\" width=\"400\" height=\"305\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Madrid is a large bustling elegant city and very different from Barcelona. There&#8217;s a lot\u00a0of traffic, people, shops, restaurants, and beautiful classic architecture.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8010.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10044\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8010.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8010\" width=\"300\" height=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8011.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-10045\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8011.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8011\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We walked up the main street to Plaza del Sol but as the wind picked up and the temperature dropped, we began to feel cold.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8013.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10046\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8013.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8013\" width=\"400\" height=\"294\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8014.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-10047\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8014.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8014\" width=\"400\" height=\"315\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The building in the photo above is supposed to be the largest Apple computer store in Europe.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8018.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-10048\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8018.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8018\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8021.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-10049\" src=\"https:\/\/gallivantinggrandma.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/IMG_8021.jpg\" alt=\"IMG_8021\" width=\"400\" height=\"316\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We took the Metro back to the hotel, rested, and then went out for\u00a0tapas\u00a0at a local restaurant called Fanegas 29. Of course, we were too early!
